BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer C. Kensel has served Catholic School Management as a consultant and instructor in its summer certificate administrative leadership programs since 2002. Most recently, she held the position of Vice Principal for Strategic Planning and Marketing at Mercy High School in Middletown, Connecticut. In this position, she was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, development and public relations. She also led the school through a successful capital campaign. Prior to joining the staff of the school, Ms. Kensel served as Chair of the Mercy High School Board of Trustees and the Principal’s Council. She has also been Co-Chair of the Board of the Network for Mercy Education and is a member of the Mercy Secondary Education Association. For these organizations, she has facilitated and presented programs on Mission-Based Planning; Values, Practices and Cultures in Mercy Schools; Board Effectiveness; Governance; Sponsorship; Mentoring and various leadership topics.

Ms. Kensel has extensive leadership experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. During her twenty-year career at CIGNA Corporation, she held executive positions in client relations and human resources and served on the boards of numerous community service and non-profit organizations.

A native of Connecticut, she received her bachelor of arts degree Magna Cum Laude in modern languages with a minor in secondary education from Fairfield University. She has completed executive level courses in business strategy, management, marketing, and facilitation. She also served as a trainer in sales management, change management, client relations, human resources, and executive leadership programs.

She serves Catholic School Management and its clients in the areas of strategic planning, mission planning and the preparation of foundational documents, institutional assessments, administrator searches, and strategic management and development programs.
